Astroneer Owner Name and GUID

Astroneer dedicated servers need an owner so one Steam account receives in-game admin privileges. During Jovian checkout, Game Setup asks for:

• Owner Name — your exact Steam display name
• Owner GUID — your SteamID64 (a long numeric ID)

Jovian applies these values when provisioning your server. You do not need to edit AstroServerSettings.ini yourself.

Note: Steam’s profile and account pages can change. If a label below does not match what you see, use Steam’s current UI and treat this guide as a checklist.

Owner Name

Owner Name must match the Steam display name of the account that will own the server — the name friends see, not necessarily your Steam account login.

1. Open the Steam client or Steam Community while signed in.
2. Open your profile.
3. Copy your display name exactly (spelling, capitalization, and spacing).

Paste that value into Jovian’s Owner Name field.

If you change your Steam display name later, ownership may stop matching until the server owner settings are updated to the new name.

Owner GUID (SteamID64)

For Astroneer hosting, Owner GUID is your SteamID64 — typically a 17-digit number that starts with 7656119.

Option A — From your Steam profile URL

1. Open your Steam profile in a browser.
2. Copy the profile URL from the address bar.
   • Custom URL example: https://steamcommunity.com/id/YourCustomName
   • Numeric URL example: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198012345678
3. If the URL already contains a long number under /profiles/, that number is your SteamID64 — use it as Owner GUID.
4. If you use a custom /id/ URL, look up that profile with a Steam ID lookup tool (for example steamid.io) and copy the steamID64 value.

Option B — From Steam account details

1. In the Steam client, open Steam → Settings (or your account menu).
2. Open the account / account details section Steam shows for your signed-in user.
3. If Steam displays a Steam ID there, confirm it is the 64-bit form (SteamID64), not a shorter account name.

Paste the SteamID64 into Jovian’s Owner GUID field with no spaces.

Enter the values on Jovian

1. During checkout, open Game Setup when prompted.
2. Paste Owner Name (exact Steam display name).
3. Paste Owner GUID (SteamID64).
4. Complete payment.

You should not need to paste these values into public chat, tickets, or URLs unless Support asks — and even then, prefer sharing only what is required.

Common mistakes

• Using a Steam friend code, account login, or email instead of SteamID64
• Using a display name that does not match the Steam account that will join first as owner
• Extra spaces before or after either field
• Mixing up another player’s SteamID64 with your own

Having trouble?

• Confirm Owner Name matches the Steam display name character-for-character.
• Confirm Owner GUID is the full SteamID64 (usually 17 digits starting with 7656119).
• After the server is ready, join with that same Steam account to verify you receive owner/admin privileges.

If ownership still does not apply, contact Support with your order ID (you can share the Owner Name; avoid posting SteamIDs in public forums).
