How to Get a BeamMP Authentication Key

BeamMP uses an Authentication Key, commonly called an AuthKey, to identify your server with the BeamMP service.

Jovian needs your BeamMP AuthKey when setting up your server.

Why Do I Need an AuthKey?

An AuthKey is required for a public BeamMP server to be accessible through the BeamMP server list. BeamMP also recommends using an AuthKey for private servers.

Your AuthKey belongs to you and is issued by BeamMP. Jovian cannot create one on your behalf.

How to Create Your AuthKey

1. Open the BeamMP Keymaster.
2. Sign in with your Discord account.
3. Select Keys.
4. Click the + button to create a new key.
5. Enter a name that will help you identify the key.
6. Select Create.
7. Copy the generated AuthKey.

The name you give the key in Keymaster is only there to help you identify it. It does not have to match the name players will see for your server.

Add the Key to Jovian

Return to your Jovian server setup and paste the key into the BeamMP Authentication Key field.

Jovian will use the key when configuring your BeamMP server.

You do not need to manually edit ServerConfig.toml.

Keep Your AuthKey Private

Treat your BeamMP AuthKey like a password.

Do not post it in Discord, screenshots, forums, or other public locations.

A BeamMP AuthKey can only be used by one running server at a time. If you operate multiple BeamMP servers simultaneously, each server needs its own key.

What If My Key Is Compromised?

If you believe someone else has obtained your AuthKey, you should stop using the compromised key and follow BeamMP's current account-support guidance.

Having Trouble?

Check the following:

• Make sure you copied the entire AuthKey.
• Make sure there are no spaces before or after the key.
• Make sure the same key isn't already being used by another running BeamMP server.
• Confirm the key is still associated with your BeamMP account.

Once you have a valid key, return to Jovian and continue your server setup.
