Icarus
Icarus Server Name and Query Port
Understand the server name and Steam query port used by your Jovian Icarus dedicated server.
Icarus dedicated servers need a Server Name and a separate Steam Query Port. Jovian handles the underlying server installation and Windows compatibility layer for you.
Server Name
Server Name is the name used to identify your Icarus dedicated server.
Choose a name that is easy for your group to recognize. The Jovian Icarus configuration allows a server name of up to 64 characters.
Changing the server name does not change the server's network address or query port.
Steam Query Port
The Server Query Port is a UDP port used by Steam server-list features.
This is separate from the main game port. It is infrastructure configuration rather than a password or account credential.
In normal use, keep the port assigned by Jovian/Pterodactyl. You generally should not need to change it just to make your server private or change its display name.
Automatic updates
Automatic updates are enabled by default for the Icarus server.
When an update is available, startup may take longer while SteamCMD downloads and installs the new server files. Avoid repeatedly restarting the server while an update is in progress.
What you do not need to configure
The Icarus server runs Windows server software through a compatibility layer on Jovian's Linux infrastructure. Settings such as the Windows install flag, Wine architecture, Wine path, and Steam application ID are managed as part of the server configuration.
You do not need to change those values for a normal Icarus server.
Having trouble?
If you cannot identify the server, verify the Server Name and wait for startup to complete.
If the server does not appear through Steam-related discovery features, verify that the server has finished starting and that the assigned query port has not been changed.
If an update is running, give it time to finish before restarting the server.
If you still have trouble, contact Support with your order ID.
