How to Connect to a Minecraft Bedrock Edition Server

Join your Minecraft Bedrock Edition server, invite friends, and check common connection problems.

Open Dashboard → Servers, choose Manage on your server, and find Connection. Use IPv4 for the game’s IP/address box. For its port box, use the number after : in Address. These instructions are for Bedrock clients that offer Add Server, such as Windows and mobile. Console editions do not provide the same arbitrary-server entry screen.

Connect

  1. Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition and select Play → Servers → Add Server.
  2. Enter any friendly name in Server Name.
  3. Enter the IPv4 in Server Address and the port from Jovian in Port.
  4. Save the entry, select it, and join.

Invite friends

Share the IPv4, port, and required Bedrock version. Friends use their own Microsoft accounts. If the server has an allowlist, ask the owner to add their gamertags.

If you cannot join

Check that you launched Bedrock, rather than Java Edition, and used the correct port. If joining is restricted, check your account’s multiplayer permissions or ask the owner about its allowlist.

Still stuck? Check the server’s status in Jovian, allow startup time, then contact Support with its ID and the error message.
