How to Connect to a The Forest Server

You’ll need the name your server uses in the game’s server list and its player password, if one is set. This name can differ from the game title on your Jovian server card. Ask the owner or Jovian Support if you don’t know it.

Connect

1. Start The Forest and open the multiplayer server browser.
2. Look in the internet dedicated-server list for your server’s name.
3. Select it and join. Enter the player password if asked.

Invite friends

Share the server name and player password, if one is set. Keep the admin password and Steam server token private.

If you cannot join

Use The Forest, rather than Sons of the Forest. Check that you are looking at internet dedicated servers and that filters are not hiding password-protected games. Contact Support if your server remains missing.

Still stuck? Check the server’s status in Jovian, allow startup time, then contact Support with its ID and the error message.
