How to Get a Steam Server Token for The Forest

The Forest dedicated server supports a Steam Game Server Login Token. Jovian exposes this as the Steam Account Token setting.

Create the token

1. Sign in to Steam and open Steam Game Server Account Management.
2. Create a new game server account using App ID 242760.
3. Give it a memo such as Jovian The Forest Server.
4. Select Create and copy the generated token.

Enter it on Jovian

Paste the token into the Steam Account Token field when configuring your The Forest server. Jovian passes the value to the server as its Steam server account.

Using a token is important for maintaining the server's Steam identity and player progress behavior expected by The Forest dedicated server.

Keep it private

Do not share the token publicly or include it in screenshots. If the token is exposed, delete it from Steam Game Server Account Management and generate a new one.
