Valheim Server Name, Password, and World

Valheim uses three customer-facing values that are worth choosing before provisioning: the server name, server password, and world name.

Server name

Choose the Server Name you want players to see in the server browser. Keep it under 60 characters.

Server password

Valheim requires a server password in the current Jovian template. It must be between 5 and 20 characters.

Choose a password you are comfortable sharing with the players you invite. Do not reuse a password from Steam, Jovian, email, or another account.

World name

The World Name selects the saved world the server loads. Keep it under 20 characters.

For a new server, choose the world name you want to use from the beginning. If you later migrate an existing Valheim world, the configured world name needs to match the save you intend to load.

During Jovian setup

Enter these values in Game Setup when prompted. Jovian applies them to the Valheim server startup configuration.
