How to Get a Steam Game Server Login Token

Counter-Strike 2 dedicated servers often need a Game Server Login Token (GSLT) from Steam. When Jovian checkout asks for a GSLT, paste the token into the Game Setup field. Jovian stores it securely with your order and applies it during provisioning.

Note: Steam’s token portal UI can change. If a step below does not match what you see, use Steam’s own documentation or the labels on Steam’s game server account page and treat this guide as a checklist.

Create a GSLT

1. Sign in to Steam in a browser with the Steam account that will own the game server token.
2. Open the Steam Game Server Account Management page.
3. Create a new game server account for Counter-Strike 2 (App ID 730 if Steam asks for an App ID).
4. Copy the generated login token (GSLT). Treat it like a password — do not share it publicly.

Enter the token on Jovian

1. During checkout, open Game Setup when prompted.
2. Paste the token into the Steam GSLT field.
3. Complete payment.

You should not need to paste the token into public chat, tickets, or URLs.

Verification needed

Confirm against Steam’s current UI:

• Exact button names on the manage-game-servers page
• Whether App ID 730 is still required for CS2
• Any Steam account restrictions (for example, limited accounts)

If Steam rejects the token or your server fails to start with an authentication error, regenerate a token and update the requirement if Jovian asks you to, or contact Support with your order ID (never paste the full token into a public forum).
